The International College of National Taiwan University participated in the Taiwan–Africa Vegetable Initiative (TAVI) workshop held in Eswatini, contributing to international exchange and training activities in agricultural biotechnology, crop improvement, and food security.

The two-week workshop, held from June 8 to June 19, 2026, is part of the TAVI 2026 work plan funded by the Republic of China (Taiwan) and implemented by the World Vegetable Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Education and Training in the Kingdom of Eswatini. The programme is jointly organized with National Taiwan University and the University of Eswatini.

The Associate Dean of NTU International College, Professor Kuo-Hsin Yang, and several faculty members participated in the workshop, engaging in academic exchange with international participants and partner institutions, reflecting the College’s continued commitment to global engagement.

The workshop brought together more than 130 participants from Eswatini and across Africa, covering key topics in genetic diversity, crop improvement, and food security. Through lectures and hands-on training, participants strengthened their knowledge and technical skills in agricultural biotechnology.

The programme also provided information on higher education opportunities and scholarships in Taiwan, supporting future academic exchange and collaboration.

Through its participation, NTU International College continues to strengthen international connections and contribute to global efforts in agricultural sustainability and food security.
