NCDR Field trip
Dec. 11, 2024
On December 11, 2024, students from the MS Program in Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience (MDR3), part of the International College, visited the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR). Accompanied by Program Director Kuo-Hsin Yang and Professor Chi-Wen Chen, the group engaged in a productive and insightful exchange focused on disaster management strategies.
During the visit, Dr. Wei-Sen Li, Secretary General of NCDR, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the government’s emergency response measures for large-scale disasters. The visit also marked a milestone as the program signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NCDR, solidifying a foundation for future collaboration.
Students participated actively in the discussions, asking thought-provoking questions that demonstrated their dedication to advancing disaster risk reduction and resilience. This hands-on experience offered them a valuable opportunity to deepen their knowledge and broaden their perspectives on disaster management and response practices.
