On June 8, 2025, faculty and students from the Master’s Program in Biodiversity (MPB) at National Taiwan University attended the public lecture “Inspiring Hope Through Action with Dr. Jane Goodall,” organized by the Jane Goodall Institute Taiwan at National Taipei University of Technology. At the age of 91 years old, Dr. Goodall delivered a powerful and heartfelt speech, sharing her lifelong dedication to chimpanzee research, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment through the global Roots & Shoots program.
Led by Program Director Prof. Chia-Ying Ko, MPB participants joined the event and engaged in a follow-up discussion to deepen their reflections. Notably, two MPB international students from Africa volunteered at the event, demonstrating the spirit of cross-cultural collaboration and commitment to sustainability.
Dr. Goodall emphasized how every daily decision we make can shape the future, and her words deeply resonated with MPB students.
